FLVS Superstar Students ROCK at USTA Nationals!
If you have spent any time here with me, you know how much I love Florida Virtual School. My girls both attend FLVS from home. You might say we are homeschoolers, because we do school from home. But each class my girls take has an instructor that works with them, just like in a brick and mortar school. Even better, their teachers are available from 8am-8pm by phone, email, text and even instant messaging! It's pretty awesome.
Other families love it, too, for many different reasons. The Whitehurst twins of Tallahassee attend FLVS as they are tennis players and it allows them the freedom to attend competitions all over the country and still attend their school classes. We aren't talking local tennis club competitions. These kids have been there, done that. They are competing in the USTA National 16-18 year old Championships! In fact, as of just this week, Terrence and Terrell, who are identical twins, scored a big win in USTA doubles in Kalamazoo, MI. These guys also happen to be straight A students. Not an easy feat any way you look at it, but FLVS makes it easier. These boys can get their school work done while they're on the road, just by taking their laptops along.
Congratulations, Terrence & Terrell! You rock!
I have in no way been compensated for writing about FLVS. My girls attend free, as does any student in the state of Florida. You may be able to attend a free virtual school in your state, too. Check with Florida Virtual School or your local school board.
